Wellbeing

To support well being we have a school ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support) who is a specially trained teaching assistant. Their aim is to build a child's emotional development to help cope with life's strategies. The ELSA helps children to find solutions to any problem they may have. She also runs our Phoenix group.

Phoenix Group (Wellbeing Group)

Phoenix groups offer a short term, focussed intervention strategy, which addresses barriers to learning arising from social / emotional and or behavioural difficulties, in an inclusive, supportive manner. Children continue to remain part of their own class.

What is the purpose of Phoenix Group?

The purpose of Phoenix Group at Rouge Bouillon is to offer children opportunities to re-visit early learning skills and promote and support their social and emotional development. There is much research evidence that children’s learning is most effective when they have a sense of emotional wellbeing, good self-esteem and a feeling of belonging to their school community. Phoenix group will provide children with this opportunity and so help develop their maturity and resilience. It will be a place of learning underpinned by the core values of our school.
